Title: Stormwater Utility Inspector

Salary: $22.26 hr

STORMWATER UTILITY INSPECTOR: Performs technical work involving inspection of stormwater management systems for compliance with Beaufort County stormwater management regulations and MS4 permitting requirements, implements countywide stormwater monitoring program, and assists the Stormwater Utility Inspection Manager capital project implementation related to stormwater.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Associate Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related scientific (Biology or Chemistry) field from an accredited college or university. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • At least two years experience/training
  • Prefer experience in stormwater management, project management, drainage and BMP construction, hydraulic modeling and water quality monitoring
  • Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license
  • Certified Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Inspector (CEPSCI), Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control (COESC) Certified Erosion, Sediment and Storm Water Inspector (CESSWI), Certified Stormwater Inspector (CSI), Certified Stormwater Plan Reviewer (CSPR) or equivalent program certification is preferred. 

 

All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
