Salary: $49,337 annually DOQ


MOSQUITO CONTROL MANAGER – Beaufort County Mosquito Control protects the health and welfare of the residents and visitors of Beaufort County, SC by controlling mosquitoes and lowering the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.  The Manager administers the surveillance program, supervises at least 6 personnel, assists with the coordination of Departmental operations, assists with the financial activities (preparation of annual budget and payroll), conducts field and laboratory studies to measure operational efficacy, records data accurately, and ensures compliance with State/Federal pesticide regulations.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Entomology, or closely related field
  • Three (3) years previous experience and/or training that includes entomology, biology, laboratory operations, mosquito/pest control, and supervision; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Must possess (or obtain within six months of hire date) and maintain a valid South Carolina Certified Pesticide Applicators License [including Public Health (Category 8), Demonstration and Research (Category 10), and Aerial Application Pest Control (Category 11)]
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (including Word and Excel)
  • Working knowledge with MUNIS (financial), NOVAtime (time/attendance and payroll), and Leading Edge MapVision (data management) is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
