Is there a difference between the Hilton Head Island Airport and the Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport?
Yes. The Savannah International Airport (in Savannah, GA) was recently re-named to Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport due to the amount of their traffic that is destined for Hilton Head. The Hilton Head Island Airport is the only airport actually located on Hilton Head Island.
Why choose the Hilton Head Island Airport?
Location! Location! Location! The airport is centrally located on Hilton Head Island, which is very convenient for our passengers and preferable to the alternative - enduring an hour-long drive from Savannah. Taxis or rental cars are waiting to take you to your island destination, no more than 15 minutes away!
Upon arrival at the Hilton Head Airport, you'll be charmed by the beautiful architectural design of our terminal. The building is large enough to accommodate the thousands of travelers and guests that pass through each month, yet small enough to make your airport experience easy and enjoyable. So, what are you waiting for? Fly to the fun!
How and with whom do I file a complaint?
If the complaint involves an airline's fares, service, schedules or personnel, a formal complaint should be filed with the airline. Contact information for the airline's customer service department and information required when filing a complaint are found here.
If a complaint involves parking, Airport facilities, Airport services or Airport personnel, a formal complaint may be filed with Airport Administration by writing the Hilton Head Airport, P.O. Box 23739, Hilton Head Island, SC 29925.
What kind of transportation will I need when I arrive on the Island?
Unfortunately, none of the area hotels provide shuttle service to/from the airport. For many people, taxi cabs provide the perfect transportation services; however, rental cars seem to be the preferred mode of transportation since shopping, golf and dining options are spread abundantly throughout the Island and nearby Lowcountry. Both taxicabs and rental cars are available upon your arrival at the Hilton Head Airport.
Where is the closest beach to the airport?
Driessen Beach Park (5 minutes) at the end of Bradley Beach Road and Folly Field Beach Park (10 minutes) off Folly Field Road are both public-access beaches with public parking and restroom facilities.
